inwi eSIM Morocco: price, how to buy, activation

inwi eSIM in Morocco: packs from 120 to 520 DH, plans from 49 DH a month, buying online or in store with a passport, and iPhone and Android setup.

An inwi eSIM costs 120, 220, 320 or 520 DH (Moroccan dirhams, MAD) as a prepaid pack with unlimited internet for 7 to 30 days plus 20 DH of credit, or comes with a monthly plan advertised from 49 DH. Those are the only prices inwi publishes on its eSIM page. The price of an "eSIM only" and the fee for switching an existing physical SIM to eSIM while keeping your number are not published anywhere on inwi.ma.

We read inwi's, Orange Morocco's and Maroc Telecom's pages on 27 October 2026. This guide goes deeper than our overview of eSIM fees at all three Moroccan carriers: it covers inwi alone, from price to activation on iPhone and Android, with a section for visitors.

Key takeaways

  • inwi eSIM packs: 120 DH (unlimited internet, 7 days), 220 DH (14 days), 320 DH (14 days + 9 hours of calls + 100 texts), 520 DH (30 days + unlimited national and zone 1 calls + 2 hours to France), each with 20 DH of credit valid 90 days (inwi.ma, 27 Oct 2026).
  • Switching an inwi SIM to eSIM is done in an inwi store and inwi does not publish the price. Orange Morocco charges 20 Dh including tax for the same swap.
  • inwi says its QR code can be scanned as many times as you like at no extra cost, once the eSIM is removed from the old phone. A foreign passport is one of the ID types inwi's sign-up accepts.

How much does an inwi eSIM cost in 2026?

On its eSIM page, inwi offers three routes: an eSIM pack with top-up, a monthly plan with eSIM, or an eSIM only that you top up afterwards. Only the packs show a price. These are the four pack cards as displayed on 27 October 2026:

PackInternetCalls and textsFree credit
120 DHUnlimited, 7 days10 minutes of national calls, 7 days20 DH, 90 days
220 DHUnlimited, 14 days10 minutes of national calls, 14 days20 DH, 90 days
320 DHUnlimited, 14 days9 hours of national and zone 1 international calls, 100 texts, 14 days20 DH, 90 days
520 DHUnlimited, 30 daysUnlimited national and zone 1 international calls + 2 hours to France, 500 texts, 30 days20 DH, 90 days

Two details matter. The 20 DH of credit lasts 90 days, far longer than the pack's internet: once the 7, 14 or 30 days are over, you still have a little credit and a working number, then you top up. And the cards say "Illimité Internet" (unlimited internet) without showing any fair-use cap, so if you plan to run a hotspot for a month, read the conditions shown at checkout.

Monthly plans: inwi's plans page advertises 4G/5G plans "from 49 dh" a month, and eSIM is picked as the SIM type during the order. inwi says a plan is activated "once your order is validated and the activation fees are paid", without printing those fees next to the prices.

The eSIM only has its own button, "Activer ma eSIM", but no price. inwi's tariff brochure (PDF dated July 2025) does not mention eSIM either; it only says a new SIM comes with 20 DH of credit valid three months.

Pack, plan or eSIM only: which should you pick?

It mostly comes down to how long you need the line.

  • A one- or two-week trip: a pack. 120 DH covers a week of internet. For two weeks, it is 220 DH if you mostly need data, or 320 DH if you will call Moroccan or zone 1 numbers.
  • A month in Morocco, or regular calls to France: the 520 DH pack, the only one with unlimited national calls and 2 hours of calls to France.
  • Living in Morocco: a monthly plan with eSIM, or an eSIM only topped up as you go. This is also the route for a second inwi line on the same phone, which inwi promotes ("an additional inwi line").

Torn between a Moroccan line and a travel eSIM bought before you fly? Our Moroccan SIM vs eSIM cost comparison puts both in one table.

Switching from a physical SIM to inwi eSIM and keeping your number

inwi allows it: its eSIM page says you can "change the format of your current inwi SIM". The published process is short: "New customer or already with inwi? Just go to the nearest inwi store and ask for your eSIM." Store addresses are on inwi’s store finder.

What inwi does not publish is the price of that switch. We looked on the eSIM page, the FAQ, the plans page and the tariff brochure: none mentions it. A site quoting an exact amount for this swap at inwi did not get it from inwi. Ask in the store before you sign.

For comparison, Orange Morocco is the only Moroccan carrier to print this price: "the card change fee is set at 20 Dh TTC", in an Orange store.

Before you go to the store

  1. Check your phone supports eSIM (see below).
  2. Bring the ID used to register the line: inwi checks ownership against the national ID card (CIN), passport or residence card on file.
  3. On prepaid, note your balance by dialling *120*30# or calling 120, as inwi's FAQ explains.
  4. Have Wi-Fi available: inwi advises connecting to Wi-Fi before scanning the QR code.

Can you buy an inwi eSIM online, or only in store?

Both, according to inwi, though its eSIM page says slightly different things in different places.

  • Each pack card has a "Choisir ce pack" (choose this pack) button that starts an order on inwi.ma, and the page's built-in guide is titled "How to subscribe to an inwi eSIM online": choose an offer, fill in your details, then "retrieve the QR code or the eSIM profile".
  • The "How to get the eSIM" block, however, sends new and existing customers to a store.
  • The text at the bottom of the page reconciles the two: "an inwi store or […] our website".

In practice: a new line (pack or plan) can be ordered online; a format change on an existing line is done in store. We did not place a paid order, and inwi does not say whether an online order's QR code arrives by email, by text or on screen. Orange Morocco, by contrast, states that it emails the QR code "within a few minutes".

ID: is a passport enough?

Yes. Registering a mobile line is mandatory in Morocco "under the regulations in force", eSIM included. inwi's identification form offers three document types: Moroccan CIN, foreign passport, Moroccan residence card. A tourist can register with a passport, either in store or online through My inwi and inwi.ma by uploading a copy.

Once the eSIM is installed, inwi’s FAQ says you activate the line by calling a number; a welcome text then confirms your number and balance.

The inwi QR code: reuse and changing phones

The QR code is your eSIM, so keep it. In store, it comes "inside your eSIM sleeve". inwi's SIM and top-up FAQ is more generous than Orange's about reusing it:

  • It can be scanned "as many times as you wish on your compatible smartphones, at no extra cost".
  • When changing phones, you must "first manually uninstall your eSIM from the device on which it is currently used" before installing it on the new one.

Orange Morocco is stricter: its QR code can only be reused if the profile was deleted while the phone was online; otherwise it is back to the shop. If you have already deleted an eSIM by mistake, our guide on getting a deleted eSIM back covers each case.

How to activate an inwi eSIM on iPhone

inwi publishes a short path (Settings, Cellular, add eSIM, scan, save). The exact labels for current iOS come from Apple’s eSIM setup page:

  1. Connect the iPhone to Wi-Fi.
  2. Open the Camera app and point it at the inwi QR code. Tap the Cellular Plan Detected notification.
  3. Tap Continue at the bottom of the screen, then Add Cellular Plan.
  4. If asked for a confirmation code, enter the one inwi gave you.

QR code on your screen, in an email or on a web page? On iOS 17.4 or later, Apple lets you touch and hold it, then tap Add eSIM. If the code will not scan, go to Settings > Cellular (Mobile Data on UK iPhones) > Add Cellular Plan, then Enter Details Manually at the bottom of the screen.

Apple requires an iPhone XS, XS Max, XR or later.

Our iPhone eSIM activation guide walks through every screen and what to do when one does not appear. If the add option is missing altogether, see why the eSIM option is missing.

How to activate an inwi eSIM on Android (Samsung, Pixel)

For Samsung Galaxy phones, inwi publishes these steps (in its English wording):

  1. Open Settings, then Connections.
  2. Tap SIM card manager.
  3. Select Adding a mobile plan, then Adding via a QR Code.
  4. Scan the QR code.
  5. Save the profile and tap OK when the download finishes.

Menu names vary slightly between One UI versions (newer ones say "SIM manager"), but the route is the same.

On a Google Pixel, Google’s Pixel Help gives: Settings > Network & internet > SIMs > Add SIM > Set up an eSIM, then follow the screens to scan the QR code.

If installation fails

  • Check the Wi-Fi connection: the profile downloads over the internet.
  • The profile is still installed on another phone: uninstall it there first, as inwi requires, then scan the same QR code again.
  • A "not eligible" message during an online order: inwi refers you to its customer service on 220 (from an inwi line).

Our article on installing a Morocco eSIM on iPhone and Android also covers choosing the data line and roaming settings.

Which phones work with inwi eSIM?

inwi's FAQ publishes a list that stops at the iPhone 14 and Galaxy S23, labelled "not exhaustive". It includes:

  • iPhone: XR, XS, XS Max, 11, SE (2020), 12, 13 and 14 (all variants).
  • Samsung: Galaxy S20, S21, S22, S23, Note 20, Fold and Z Fold, Z Flip.
  • Google: Pixel 3 to Pixel 7.
  • Others: Huawei P40, P40 Pro, Mate 40 Pro; Honor Magic 4; Xiaomi 12T Pro; OPPO Find X3 Pro, Find X5, Find X5 Pro, Reno 6 Pro 5G; Motorola Razr.

Your iPhone 16 or Galaxy S25 is not on it? That means nothing: the list simply has not been updated. inwi's only condition is to "have a compatible phone". Check our full list of eSIM-compatible phones, or the iPhone, Galaxy S25 and Google Pixel pages.

One common trap for US visitors: a phone still locked to AT&T, Verizon or T-Mobile will refuse an inwi line until it is unlocked. Ask your carrier to unlock it before you travel. To read the chip itself, the free eSIM Check app on Android checks whether the phone has an eUICC.

Visiting Morocco: inwi eSIM or a travel eSIM?

inwi clearly targets visitors: its Travellers page ("eSIM for tourists") says "Arriving in Morocco soon? Choose the eSIM offer that suits your needs, with internet included" and links to the packs above. There is no separate tourist pack; they are the same 120, 220, 320 and 520 DH packs.

What the inwi eSIM gives you: a Moroccan number (handy for riads, drivers and deliveries), advertised unlimited internet and local calls. What it asks of you: registration with your passport and payment in dirhams.

What a travel eSIM gives you: you buy and install it before you fly, it works when you land and needs no paperwork, but usually without a Moroccan number and with a data cap or reduced speed beyond a threshold.

How we checked

On 27 October 2026 we read inwi's eSIM page (price cards, "how to get" and "how to set up" blocks, FAQ), its SIM and top-up FAQ, Travellers page, plans page, line identification page and tariff brochure; Orange Morocco’s eSIM page; and Apple and Google help pages for menu labels. Each pack card's contents were matched to its price card by card.

Maroc Telecom's site returned an access error to our reader; we did not work around it and flag the details that date from our 13 September 2026 reading. We did not place a paid order. Prices are as displayed in dirhams and may change without notice.

Next step: check your phone in our eSIM-compatible device list, then pick your pack on inwi.ma.
