eSIM Check

iPad & Apple Watch eSIM compatibility

iPad & Apple Watch on our list of eSIM-compatible devices: 30 models in 4 groups. Open a series for the model-by-model table, the restrictions and the activation steps.

A model on this list has eSIM hardware, but a regional variant sold without it, a carrier lock or outdated software can still hide the option. The free app checks the phone in your hand.

Notes from our list

Wi-Fi + Cellular models only. Wi-Fi-only tablets do not support eSIM. iPad Pro (M4, M5), iPad Air (M2 and later), iPad (A16) and iPad mini (A17 Pro) have no SIM tray: they are eSIM-only in every country.

Cellular models support eSIM technology. The watch's mobile plan must come from the same carrier as the paired iPhone, so a travel eSIM cannot be installed on the watch.
