Part of our Seychelles eSIM guide: all articles and key facts →

The best eSIM for Seychelles depends on two things: whether you want unlimited data or a fixed allowance, and how long you stay between Mahé, Praslin and La Digue. Most travel eSIMs connect to Airtel, which also did better in the regulator's own tests. We compared eight providers on 20 October 2026, reading the Seychelles pages of six of them and the esimdb listings of the other two, and compared price, network and the rules that matter on the islands.

Key takeaways

  • On 20 October 2026, Holafly was the cheapest verified Seychelles-only unlimited plan for a single day (€8.90) and at every length in our table from 3 to 15 days (€37.90 for 7 days, on Airtel), less than half the esimdb median of €83.74 for a week; for 30 days, Yesim (€99) and Orange Travel's 100 GB (€93.99) cost less than Holafly (€108.50).
  • For fixed data valid 30 days, Nomad was below the esimdb median from 3 GB to 10 GB (3 GB for €15.12, 10 GB for €31.13), and Orange Travel had the cheapest verified 1 GB at €6.99 for 7 days.
  • Most travel eSIMs run on Airtel, which appears in 87.6% of the Seychelles plans that name a network on esimdb; in the regulator's 2024 tests on the move, Airtel averaged 16.8 Mbps download against 7.3 Mbps for Cable & Wireless.

Which is the best eSIM for the Seychelles?

For unlimited data, Holafly was the cheapest verified Seychelles-only plan for a single day and at every length in our table from 3 to 15 days; for a fixed allowance, Nomad and Orange Travel were cheapest; for a full month, Yesim and Orange Travel beat Holafly. No single provider wins every trip, so here are the winners by need among Seychelles-only plans (Maya Mobile's global plan is a special case, discussed below), on prices checked on 20 October 2026:

  • A stopover on Mahé: Orange Travel sells 1 GB valid 7 days for €6.99 and Airalo 1 GB valid 3 days for €7.50. Holafly sells a single day of unlimited data for €8.90.
  • One week on Mahé, Praslin and La Digue: Holafly costs €37.90 for 7 days of unlimited data. With a fixed plan, Nomad's 3 GB valid 30 days costs €15.12 and Orange Travel's 3 GB valid 7 days €15.99.
  • Ten days to two weeks: Holafly costs €44.90 for 10 days and €58.50 for 14 days. Orange Travel's 20 GB valid 14 days costs €46.99.
  • A month: Orange Travel's 100 GB valid 30 days costs €93.99 and Yesim's unlimited month €99, both less than Holafly's €108.50.
  • The Cable & Wireless network: Orange Travel names both Airtel and Cable & Wireless on its Seychelles page; Holafly, Nomad and Airalo's Seychelles plan name Airtel only.

If you would rather buy a local line on arrival, our guide to Airtel and Cable & Wireless tourist SIMs covers prices, the airport booth and the passport rules.

The Seychelles eSIMs side by side

The table lists the network each provider names, its unlimited week and a typical fixed plan. Figures were read on the providers' own pages on 20 October 2026 and are quoted in the currency each page displayed. Saily and Ubigi pages could not be read, so their prices come from the esimdb database.

Unlimited prices by length tell the rest of the story. Holafly sells any number of days from 1 to 90; Yesim sells 1, 7, 15 and 30 days.

Maya Mobile is a special case, left out of the verdicts above, which compare Seychelles-only plans. Its Seychelles page sells one global unlimited plan at $9.99 for 3 days, $19.99 for 7 days, $27.99 for 14 days and $49.99 for 30 days. Each package is a one-time purchase: its FAQ says "There is no automatic recurring charge unless you choose to turn on Auto Top-Up", an option you add at checkout. The price card also carries the line "Auto-renews while Travel Mode is on", but the FAQ is explicit that a plan renews only if Auto Top-Up is turned on. Its headline promises "no caps, no throttling", while the plan data on the same page reads "5GB Per Day full speed, then speed drops to 3Mbps". The network named in that plan data for the Seychelles is Cable & Wireless, the slower network in the regulator's 2024 tests. With 5 GB a day at full speed, $19.99 for a week costs less than any Seychelles-only unlimited week in our tables; with Auto Top-Up off, the plan simply ends with no further charge.

Is an unlimited eSIM for the Seychelles worth it?

For a week or more of heavy use, yes: Holafly's unlimited plans cost less than half the typical Seychelles plan with a daily allowance of at least 1 GB. The comparison database esimdb listed 6,495 plans from 213 providers covering the Seychelles on 20 October 2026. Among Seychelles-only plans with at least 1 GB a day at full speed, the median price was €83.74 for 7 days (141 plans from 59 providers), €116.02 for 10 days and €290.01 for 30 days, with dollar prices converted at the European Central Bank rate.

Holafly sits well below that median at every length in the table: €37.90 against €83.74 for a week and €108.50 against €290.01 for a month. Cheaper plans exist from small brands, the lowest at €12.59 for 7 days, but we did not check their own pages, and esimdb lists them as slowing to 128 kbps once the daily gigabyte is used.

Holafly's page publishes no daily full-speed figure. Its FAQ only says that operators may apply a fair usage policy for no more than one day. Yesim's page says that data speed "may be limited in accordance with the network operator's Fair Usage Policy". Airalo's global Discover plan, which covers the Seychelles, publishes its rule plainly: €41.50 for 7 days, then 1 Mbps after 3 GB a day.

Unlimited data matters most if you upload photos and videos from the beaches or share the connection with a partner's laptop. If you mainly need maps, ferry times and messages, a fixed plan costs much less, as the next section shows.

Which fixed-data eSIM is cheapest for the Seychelles?

Nomad was below the esimdb median from 3 GB to 10 GB, and Orange Travel had the cheapest verified 1 GB and the largest allowances. Here are the verified prices against the median of Seychelles-only fixed plans on esimdb, all checked on 20 October 2026:

  • 1 GB for 7 days: Orange Travel €6.99, Nomad €7.12, aloSIM $8. The esimdb median was €6.46, so even the cheapest big brand sits slightly above it.
  • 3 GB for 30 days: Nomad €15.12, aloSIM $22, Yesim €28. Median €16.76.
  • 5 GB for 30 days: Nomad €22.24, Airalo €29.50, aloSIM $32, Yesim €55. Median €25.48.
  • 10 GB for 30 days: Nomad €31.13, Airalo €45.50, Yesim €69. Median €43.37.
  • 20 GB: Orange Travel €49.99 for 30 days, Nomad €50.70 for 45 days, Yesim €82 for 30 days. Median for 30 days €77.39.

Orange Travel also sells 50 GB for €69.99 and 100 GB for €93.99, both valid 30 days, which no other big brand we read offers. Airalo's prices are steep for short validity: 10 GB for 7 days costs €43.50, against €37.99 at Orange Travel.

Airtel or Cable & Wireless: which network does each eSIM use?

Most travel eSIMs use Airtel, and Airtel was also faster in the tests the regulator commissioned in 2024. The Seychelles has two mobile operators. Airtel Seychelles belongs to the Bharti Airtel group and has operated in the islands since 1998. Cable & Wireless Seychelles, founded in 1893 as a telegraph company, was bought from Liberty Global by a group of Seychellois investors in 2019; its own chief executive, Charles Hammond, said at the time that "even the name will not change". It still trades as Cable & Wireless.

On esimdb, 4,621 of the plans covering the Seychelles name a network: Airtel appears in 4,046 of them (87.6%) and Cable & Wireless in 834 (18.0%). Holafly, Nomad and Airalo's Seychelles plan name Airtel. Orange Travel names both networks, and esimdb lists Yesim on both. aloSIM's page names "Flow", which is the brand of neither Seychelles operator, so we could not tell which network it uses.

The quality of service study of the Seychelles Communications Regulatory Authority (SCRA) is the only independent comparison we found (the link is an archived copy: the file is no longer online at the regulator's address). The South African firm Metro Global Telecom Services tested both networks on Mahé, Praslin and La Digue from 25 September to 31 October 2024. With 4G preferred and the phone on the move, Airtel averaged 16.8 Mbps download against 7.3 Mbps for Cable & Wireless, and 9.1 against 6.3 Mbps upload. Cable & Wireless had the lower average latency, 242 ms against 274 ms.

For a traveller, 16.8 Mbps is enough for maps, messages and video calls. The study's summary also prints separate tables for Mahé and for Praslin and La Digue, but the two tables contain exactly the same figures, so we only quote the combined results.

Does an eSIM work on Praslin and La Digue?

Yes on the coasts, where users have run many tests on Airtel, but expect weaker signal inland and at sea. On nPerf's crowdsourced maps, which show where users of the nPerf app ran tests rather than guaranteed coverage, Airtel had tests along much of Praslin's coastal roads and along the west coast of La Digue when we looked on 20 October 2026, mostly in 4G+ and 4G. Tests also follow the sea crossing between Mahé and Praslin.

Cable & Wireless had only a handful of test points on Praslin and La Digue on the same maps, all grey, the colour of the no-signal icon in nPerf's legend, and none shown as 3G, 4G or 5G, while its Mahé map showed 4G along the main roads and a stretch of 5G around Victoria. Fewer tests do not prove there is no signal; they mean the maps say little about Cable & Wireless on the two smaller islands.

Holafly itself warns that "on remote islands, in mountainous areas, on secluded beaches, and during boat journeys, coverage may be weaker or less stable", naming "certain parts of Morne Seychellois National Park, the inland routes of Praslin and La Digue, and the archipelago's more remote islands". Download offline maps of all three islands before you leave Mahé.

Pros and cons of each provider

Each provider below was read on 20 October 2026. Prices are for Seychelles-only plans unless stated.

Holafly

  • Pros: the cheapest verified Seychelles-only unlimited plan for a single day and at every length in our table from 3 to 15 days, far below the esimdb median; any length from 1 to 90 days; a monthly 1 GB backup allowance it calls "Always On".
  • Cons: Airtel only; hotspot limited to 1 GB a day; no daily full-speed figure published; no local phone number; for 30 days, Yesim and Orange Travel cost less.

Yesim

  • Pros: the cheapest verified Seychelles-only unlimited month (€99); validity begins on connection to a compatible network; activation possible within 180 days of purchase; esimdb lists it on both networks.
  • Cons: expensive for short stays (€35 for one unlimited day, €49 for a week); fixed plans cost far more than Nomad (10 GB for €69 against €31.13); hotspot "depends on operator".

Nomad

  • Pros: below the esimdb median for 3, 5 and 10 GB valid 30 days; 20 GB valid 45 days for €50.70; Nomad's FAQ says its eSIMs support hotspot use; activation within 60 days of purchase.
  • Cons: no unlimited Seychelles plan; Airtel only; its only short plan is 1 GB for 7 days.

Orange Travel

  • Pros: the cheapest verified 1 GB (€6.99) and the largest allowances (100 GB for €93.99, 30 days); names both Airtel and Cable & Wireless; hotspot allowed, according to its page.
  • Cons: its 3 and 5 GB plans last only 7 days, and 10 GB lasts 7 or 14 days; no unlimited plan.

Airalo

  • Pros: a well-known brand; the plan starts on first use and is rechargeable online; its Hello Africa plan also covers Mauritius.
  • Cons: its Seychelles plans cost more than Nomad's at every size (10 GB for 30 days at €45.50 against €31.13); no unlimited Seychelles-only plan; we found no hotspot rule on its page.

aloSIM, Saily and Ubigi

  • aloSIM: fixed plans from $8 for 1 GB; hotspot allowed, "ID/documentation required: No" and a free international phone number, according to its page; network unclear.
  • Saily and Ubigi: their own pages could not be read on 20 October 2026. On esimdb, Saily sold 3 GB for 30 days at $19.99 and Ubigi 10 GB for 30 days at €35, on Airtel. We leave them out of every verdict.

Is a local SIM cheaper than a travel eSIM?

Per gigabyte, often yes, if you accept a counter visit with your passport and the slower network in the regulator's tests. Cable & Wireless publishes a Traveller Plan for visitors, priced in euros in terms dated March 2024: €19.99 for 10 GB over 7 days, or €24.99 for 15 GB over 21 days, each with unlimited local calls and SMS. Orange Travel charges €37.99 for 10 GB over 7 days.

The catches are real. The plan is bought on the Seychelles Electronic Border System, the passport is "the only acceptable official identification document", and you must register in person with the QR code you receive. Airtel announced a similar offer through the same border system in 2022, but its website showed no readable tourist prices when we checked. Our Seychelles local SIM guide sets out every option.

Seychelles and Mauritius on the same trip

A regional plan can cover both island nations. Airalo's Hello Africa eSIM includes the Seychelles and Mauritius; on 20 October 2026 it cost €23.50 for 3 GB over 7 days and €38 for 5 GB over 30 days. esimdb counted 2,565 plans from 142 providers that appear on both countries' lists.

Whether two country plans cost less depends on how much data you need on each island: Nomad's 3 GB for the Seychelles costs €15.12 on its own, so add the price of a Mauritius plan from our best eSIM for Mauritius comparison and compare the total with Hello Africa. For everything else about the second island, see our Mauritius eSIM guide.

When does the plan start, and can you share it?

Airalo, Nomad, Yesim and Holafly let you install the eSIM at home and start the plan in the Seychelles. Airalo's policy is "first-usage"; Nomad's plans can be activated within 60 days of purchase; Yesim's validity "begins upon connection to a compatible network"; Holafly counts each day as 24 hours from activation.

Hotspot rules differ more:

  • Holafly: 1 GB of shared data a day.
  • Yesim: "depends on operator".
  • Nomad, Orange Travel and aloSIM: hotspot allowed, according to their pages.
  • Airalo: no hotspot rule on its Seychelles page.

None of the plans we compared includes a Seychelles phone number. Keep your home line switched on with data roaming off if you need bank codes by SMS. Our guide to running two eSIMs at the same time explains how to keep both lines.

What should you sort out before landing on Mahé?

Install the eSIM at home, check that your phone is unlocked, and plan for weaker signal inland and on the ferries. Seychelles International Airport lies on Mahé near Victoria. Praslin has its own airport, while La Digue has none and is reached by ferry, usually via Praslin.

If a seller asks for your phone's EID, our guide shows where to find the EID number. If nothing connects on arrival, check that data roaming is on for the eSIM line, then work through 10 fixes for a travel eSIM not working abroad.

How we compared

We read each provider's Seychelles page, or the plan data it embeds, on 20 October 2026, and recorded price, validity, data, network, start of validity and hotspot rule. We computed market medians with the esimdb database, using Seychelles-only plans, promotions included, and dollar prices converted at the European Central Bank rate of 19 October 2026 (1 euro for 1.1225 dollars) for the medians only.

Network results come from the SCRA's 2024 quality of service summary and nPerf's maps. The local offer comes from Cable & Wireless's own terms. We did not buy the plans or measure speeds in the Seychelles. Prices change often, so check the provider's page before you buy. For the same comparison in another country, see our best eSIM for Kenya.
